Singapore public schools
In 2023, our company hosted a cybersecurity event for students at a Singapore public school. I was interested and volunteered to help.
It was something like a game where you had to move between different stands and learn in an engaging way how to counter cyberbullying, how not to become a victim of scammers, how not to lose data, and other computer security issues. My role was to teach the kids how to come up with “strong” passwords and organize a game about it.
Firstly, I looked at the school (Yusof Ishak Secondary School) and really liked it — a modern building.
Secondly, I was very inspired by the children — they were seventh graders (12–13 years old) who were genuinely interested in technology, you could see how eagerly they absorbed knowledge.
Someone warned me that the class might be quiet at first. That was not my experience at all: the kids were very communicative and asked me a million questions.
